Slow Cooker Barbecue Chicken Drumsticks

slow cooker barbecue chicken - confessions of a cooking diva

This definitely not a recipe per se, but more like a recipe suggestion. I’ve been making this chicken dish for a long time and it is by far my family’s favorite recipe I make. I think it’s such a hit because the chicken cooks on low in barbecue sauce all day long and comes out so tender, juicy and full of flavor. I like it because it makes my life easy. I always have chicken drumsticks and barbecue sauce on hand.

A couple of weeks ago I shared this recipe on my Instagram page and it was a huge hit so I thought I would post it here.

There are no exact measurements for this dish. I’ll give you my measurements and then you can tailor it to what fits your needs.

To make this a one dish recipe add some green beans or potatoes into the pot and cook them with the chicken and barbecue sauce.

How to Make:

I place 5-6 drumsticks into the bottom of my slow cooker, season with salt and pepper and pour the barbecue sauce over it. I cook on low for 7 to 8 hours. I like to cook my chicken on low because I feel like it doesn’t dry them out like it does on high. You can definitely cook these on high for 4-5 hours. I generally use half a bottle of barbecue sauce, but you can use less or more.
