Today’s blog post is a Tour Through Blogland. I love being a part of these behind-the- scenes type posts. It’s a wonderful chance for us to share with you our homes, families and life as a blogger. At the end of this post I will send you over to check out my friend, Katie.
Cassandra from Little Red Window invited me to be part of this tour. If you haven’t checked out her blog, you should. She has the cutest crafts (that I may even try) as well as some delicious recipes. She also has a wonderful Etsy shop full of cute items.
If you are new here then you’ll notice that there is a lot of food on here. I love food, and find cooking to be relaxing, fun and at times challenging. My goal here to provide you, my readers, easy and delicious recipes and throw in a few other fun posts too.
At this point I would show you my beautiful and clean kitchen, but my kitchen is neither of these things. We live in a rental home and the kitchen is tiny, dark and desperately in need of a makeover. One day I will win the lottery and design my dream kitchen. 🙂 I’m pretty sure that will never happen, but a girl can dream. As far as it being clean, the dishes are clean, but there are a few drying on the counter and a few kitchen items on the counter that should be put away, but haven’t yet. I think kitchens are the hardest room to keep clean because it’s always in use. Just know that if I come to visit you I will never judge you on how perfect your house is because mine is never perfect. What fun would that be?!

Now onto the Blogland Questions:
#1: What am I working on?
I’m working on a lot of things. I have around 15 recipes that have been made and photographed just waiting to be posted. I also have around 30 recipes that I want to make, but haven’t yet.
#2: How does my work differ from those in my genre?
That’s a really good question and one I’m not sure I have an answer for. I think all food bloggers are virtually the same in that our goal is to produce easy and delicious recipes that everyone will enjoy. I try to share with you my journey in the kitchen and my love of food.
#3:Why do I write/create what I do?
I’ve always wanted to be a writer, not sure I’m the best writer out there, but I love to write. I had been a long-time fan of the Pioneer Woman’s food blog and I decided I wanted to start my own. I had no clue at the time how many food blogs there were, and how hard blogging is, but I love it and hope to continue on this blogging path for a long time.
#4: How does your writing/creative process work?
For my creative process, I watch a lot of cooking shows, read a ton of cookbooks and magazines and love discovering new recipes. I use these recipes as a jumping point to a new recipe and process. It’s a lot of fun, a lot of hard work and sometimes the recipe doesn’t work. I have notebooks in almost every room of the house and in my purse. I’ve come up with recipes in my head in the middle of the night and while eating in a restaurant.
I wish I had a writing process, how cool would that be? I read about other professional writers who have a process they do before they start writing, and I think about having one, but that’s something that is still on my to-do list.
I tend to write my posts the day they go live, explains my errors. I do have a goal to start spending more time on each post and to schedule them in advance.
