My Evening Skin Care Routine

evening skin care

Yesterday I discussed my morning skin care routine and today I’m going to share my evening routine. Taking care of your skin is really important in the evening because of the workout it gets from makeup, oil your skin produces during the day, sun and pollution from the air.  I use a lot more products in the evening so my routine tends to take around 10 – 15 minutes. It’s definitely been worth the effort, since starting this routine my skin has never looked better.

Facial Cleansers-

Before I wash my face I use a makeup wipe that takes off makeup, I use this on my eyes too. Lately, I’ve been using these makeup wipes for a couple of weeks, I got them for free to try and I love them. Very gentle, but effectively gets my makeup off.

Next, I cleanse my face with my Clarisonic and one of two facial cleansers either the Shiseido that I talked about yesterday or the Jose Maran Argan Cleansing oil.   I’ve been using the cleansing oil for a couple of months and still not sure if I love it or not. It does a great job of taking off makeup and leaving your face feeling moisturized, but it has a different type of application that I’m not used to. I’ll keep using it and see if I like it any better.

Serum-

I love this serum from Julep. I’ve been using it for sometime now and have great results from it. I use it after I’ve washed my face and before I use my moisturizer. I place the serum on my forehead, around my eyes and upper cheek area and around my mouth. Since starting it I have seen a visible difference in appearance of my skin.

Moisturizer-

I received a small sample from Sephora of this moisturizer from Ole Hendriksen and I love it. It’s a bit thicker than the one I use for daytime which I like for evenings. It’s definitely a pricey moisturizer, but it’s a great formula for combination skin.

Lip Products-

At night I also use the lip treatment I talked about in yesterdays post. I also use a lip scrub each night after I brush my teeth it’s by Bliss and is effective in getting of rough skin without being abrasive. I have the electric brush and I love it. This is also a pricey skin care item, but I’m finding that the jar is lasting me a very long time. I won’t need to buy this very often.

Eye Cream-

I was looking for a new eye cream and decided to give one from Walgreens a try and it’s perfect. It’s called Advanced Firming and Anti-wrinkle Eye Cream. I couldn’t find it online but it’s a Walgreens brand and it’s a fairly thick moisturizing eye cream. I like a thick cream for at night.

Extra-

The last thing I use each night is this Mally Beauty Perfect Prep Poreless Primer. It’s really a primer, but can be used at night on top of all your other creams. I’ve used it both as a primer and at night and I love using it at night. My skin looks and feels so smooth and my pores are so tiny the next morning.

That’s it. That’s everything I use at night. Seems like a lot, but really it just takes around 10 minutes to do it all. For me, it’s worth the time and investment.

Enjoy!
