May 2016 Beauty Favorites

May 2016 Beauty Favorites - confessions of a cooking diva

Hello! It’s time again to share my favorite beauty products for the month of May. I try lots of different products each month, but these are my absolute favorites that I kept reaching for all month long.

Lorac Pro mascara – $23 -I love, love, love this mascara. I chose the color Black Noir and it’s the perfect shade of dark black mascara. I love my mascara to be very dark because it really gives my eyes definition which is really important since I wear glasses. Lorac says that this mascara lengthens and thickens without smudging or flaking. I have to agree I had no issues with smudging or flaking. That says a lot for a person who has watery eyes. I’ve never tried their PRO line before, but after trying this mascara I may have to try some other products. There really isn’t a down-side to this product not even the price. Yes, it’s pricier than a drugstore mascara, but is cheaper than a lot of high-end mascaras.

Maybelline Brow Drama Pomade Crayon – $9.99. – I am addicted to this crayon and for good reason. It’s easy to use, just draw it on and go. The color, soft brown, is the perfect compliment to my eyebrows. Easy to cleanup. If you tend to color outside the eyebrow line it’s easy to wipe off with a q-tip. No need to use a makeup remover to get it off. The downside to this is that it does not hold my eyebrows in place. If you have unruly eyebrows then you will need to use an eyebrow gel with it.

Wet n Wild MegaLast Salon Nail Color – $1.72 – If you would have told me that Wet n Wild would have a nail polish that lasts for days I would have laughed. Never would I have believed it, but Wet n Wild has come a long way in the quality of their products. I love this polish and find that it lasts a full 7 days. 7 days! That’s an eternity in the manicure world. I love this color Undercolor, but was unable to find this color anymore. My favorite part is the ManiCurves Pro Brush. Basically, the brush is flat vs round. The brush lays flat on the nail and gives a nice, wide coverage. Two swipes of the brush on each side of the nail and you are done. Love it. With a price of $1.72 a bottle I will be adding more of these to my collection.

Beautyblender Solid Cleanser – $16 – This is a great cleanser for your makeup sponges and brushes. I like it better than what I’ve been using which is baby shampoo. It’s simple to use I just wet the bar under the water and rub my sponges and brushes over it and rinse. Really quick and easy to use. The soap sits on a tray inside the container. I sit this tray on my counter and allow it dry after I use it. Then place it back in the container. The soap has a nice clean scent to it, but does not make my sponges or brushes smell.

That’s it, my favorites for May.
