Review of Three New Maybelline Products

Confessions of a Cooking Diva

Today I’m bringing you a review of THREE, yes three, new Maybelline products. First, is their brow palette. Second, is their new Falsies Push Up mascara. Thirdly, the Baby Kiss blush. Two of these were a huge success for me, one was a total failure.

If I was going to be honest my favorite drug store makeup brand is Maybelline. Not all their products have been a hit, but I’ve had really good experiences with them. I’ve seen some sneak peaks of new Maybelline products coming out and I’m so excited. I love that drug stores are starting to amp up their game and offer as much selection as the higher-end brands.

Maybelline Brow Drama Pro Palette – Spoiler alert, I love this product. It’s fabulous. Let’s begin with the basics – I bought mine at CVS for $12.99. It comes in 4 shades – Blonde, soft brown, deep brown and auburn. Mine is in soft brown. Comes with a little spoolie and a double-ended brush, both of which I like and use. The bottom of the package gives you step by step instructions on how to use the product, which I really like. The palette comes with the wax, the pigment color and a highlighter. This product is super easy to use. The wax is sticky enough to hold the pigment, but not sticky enough to keep my brows in place all day. I end up using my Anastasia Brow Gel over it. I like this product as much as my Too Faced Brow Envy Brow Shaping and Defining Kit which is around $40.

The Falsies Push Up Drama Mascara – Another product I ended up liking. I say I ended up liking because I didn’t like it at first. I didn’t feel like it did anything for my eyelashes. I was expecting it to give me volume per their product claims, but it doesn’t. What I did find it does is give me lots of length. It’s a very thin and wet formula which I feel is what allows this product to give me length. In order for me to get volume I do need to pair this with a volumizing mascara to give my eyelashes some thickness. It comes in three colors – brownish black, very black, and blackest black. Retails for $9.49 which isn’t cheap and looks to be their most expensive mascara to date, but it’s not the most expensive mascara out there. I find this mascara to have great staying power through out the day and doesn’t flake.

Baby Skin Instant Cheek Flush – I wanted so much to love this product, but I didn’t. The packaging is adorable, I love the sweet smell and the color is a beautiful shade of pink, but this product just doesn’t work. First, it doesn’t show up on my skin unless I use a lot and I mean A LOT. When they say it gives a hint of color they aren’t kidding. Second, it goes on feeling tacky and stays tacky all day. You can literally feel the stickiness on your cheek and if you touch your cheek it comes off. Staying power is just a couple of hours. Sadly, this product will be going into the trash.

There you have it my thoughts on three new Maybelline products. Have you tried these? Please share your opinions on them.
