Easy Mimosa Recipe

easy mimosa recipe - confessions of a cooking diva

A classic drink for bridal showers or Mother’s Day

To spice up our Easter day we decided to have Mimosas. I had never had a  Mimosa before. I have to say it was pretty darn good.

Traditionally, Mimosas are a mixture of orange juice and champagne. I am not a big fan of champagne. I’m more of a wine or a mixed drink kind of girl.

To make it more to my liking we used an Italian white sparkling wine called Prosecco. To my palate it’s not as tart as a traditional champagne. You can use either champagne or Prosecco for your Mimosa.

These would be perfect for a bridal shower or Mother’s Day brunch. It’s easy to make a little or a lot of this recipe.

To make you take equal parts chilled Prosecco to orange juice. Mix together and you have a Mimosa.

The best part is you can make as much or as little as you need. We only made two Mimosas so the measurements were 1/3 cup Prosecco to 1/3 cup orange juice. That was how much fit into our little champagne glasses. If you needed more you could use a punch bowl or a carafe and measure out how many fluids of liquid fill your intended container and determine your ratios from that.

Have you ever had a Mimosa? What’s your favorite party drink?

Enjoy!
