It’s February! I love February for two reasons, 1. I love Valentine’s Day! 2. It means there is only 1 more month until Spring. Not a Winter fan. Since it’s February then it means it’s time for January’s Beauty Favorites. I love doing these posts.
This month I found myself turning again and again to the same products. Usually I mix it up every time I do my makeup, but I’m absolutely in love with these products. And…surprise there is a hair product in this list.
Cover Girl Ready Set Gorgeous Foundation. I have it in 105. This foundation is amazing! It’s says it’s guaranteed to last all day, keep you shine free and not clog your pores. I have to say I agree with their claims. Foundation tends to melt into my skin and disappear even when it’s super dry and with a primer. This is one of those foundations that keeps it’s coverage all day. You can apply it with a foundation brush or your fingers. I like to use my fingers because it’s quicker, but you do get better coverage with a brush.
Too Faced Brow Envy. I am a huge fan of Too Faced products and have been eyeing this product for a long time and was really excited to get it from my parents for Christmas. This kit comes with 2 colors, Blonde and Brunette. I use both colors. Blonde for all over and then I have a few hairless spots in the middle of my right brow so I fill that in with just a touch of brunette. It comes with a setting wax and a highlighter. It also comes with some tools – a brush, tweezers and a spoolie. I don’t love the brush you use for application because it’s just too small. I use an angled eye liner brush. The setting wax is great and the highlighter really gives a nice light coverage under the brow bone.
Josie Maran Argan Cleansing Oil. I have a true love/hate relationship with this cleanser. I started using it a year ago and loved it, my face didn’t react to it and my face felt super soft and clean from it. Then I hated it because my face started reacting to it. Turns out I cannot use this cleanser in the summer, just too oily, but it’s been a lifesaver this winter. I have combination skin and go through it being more oily in the summer and a bit drier in the winter. But, this winter my skin went super dry. It’s never been this dry in my life so I started using the Argan Cleansing Oil again and it’s really helped my face calm down. It’s truly been a miracle worker.
It Cosmetics Brushes. #211 All-Over Powder Brush. This is a perfect product. It combines my two loves into one, IT Cosmetics and makeup brushes. You guys, you have to get one of these brushes. They are the most luxuriating brush I’ve ever used. Sometimes when I got to Ulta I go over to the IT Cosmetics brushes and touch them because they are just so nice. Is that weird?! Ok, maybe, but if you’ve touched these brushes then you know why. This brush is from their Live Beauty collection. They also have a Luxe brush collection that feels like silk. So far I’ve resisted buying one, but maybe one day in the future I’ll break down and buy one. If you want to splurge a little then I say try one of these brushes. I have this powder brush and a blush brush. They do a fantastic job of distributing product with no shedding. Love it!
Laura Geller Baked Highlighter in French Vanilla. This is another product I’ve had my eye on and received as a gift for Christmas. Can you see a theme here? Seriously, all I asked for at Christmas time was makeup and cookbooks. My needs are simple. This is a beautiful highlighter that gives a nice glow without shimmer. It’s a nice matte shade that can be used under your eyes, top your cheek bones and on your eye lids to take away the redness. It came with a sponge applicator that I’m not a fan of. I prefer to use my Sigma F35 Taper Highlighter brush.
Spray Volume Intense by Phyto Paris. It’s rare for me to use a hair product because I have oily, fine hair. I have a lot of hair, but it’s super fine and hair products weigh it down. This does not. I’ve been using this for a few years and every time I go to Sephora I pick up a bottle. Does a great job of giving my hair some life without making it look like a ball of grease.
That’s it, my favorite products for January. What have you been using?
