A one pot deliciousness of penne, sausage and cheese.

Happy Wednesday! It’s a dark and rainy day here in Utah. We’ve been having really warm weather and now it’s cold again. I’m really looking forward to summer being here, I love warm weather. I am not a fan of cold weather at all. How about you? Do you have a favorite season?

I have a wonderful dish for you today and all you need is a skillet and 5 ingredients. I love one pot dishes. There are days when I like to make a fancy dish with lots of ingredients and techniques, but most nights I like quick and delicious meals and the less dishes the better.

This dish has a great combination of sausage, tender pasta and lots of cheese. I chose a hot Italian Sausage, but it would be just as good with a mild or sweet Italian Sausage.

How to Make –

In a large skillet over medium heat crumble the sausage and cook until done. This takes about 8 – 10 minutes. Drain any fat.

Add your favorite jarred spaghetti sauce and water. Mix well. Stir in pasta and bring to a boil. Cover the skillet and let it simmer for 16 to 18 minutes or until pasta is tender.

Remove the cover and top with mozzarella cheese. Cover again and cook for 1 to 2 more minutes.

Serve immediately.

Enjoy!
